Slow Simmer

She gave up on her career for her family, and he gave up on his family for his career. On the verge of giving up dating forever, these two opposites connect, but when their life philosophies clash, they must learn the lessons the other offers if they want to follow their deepest dreams and have it all.
Mara Stellar traded a successful career in game development for a very different dream: running a comic book shop in her hometown of Sewickley, Pennsylvania. Ghost of a Chance Comics may not be the life everyone expected her to choose, but after losing her twin brother, Mara has had enough of other people telling her what her future should look like.
Ford Ross has a decision of his own to make. The award-winning Hollywood director returns home to Sewickley to check on his father and figure out what comes next in his career.
He doesn’t expect Mara.
Between her Wonder Woman T-shirts, sharp opinions, and complete lack of interest in being dazzled by Hollywood, she’s unlike anyone Ford normally encounters. And Mara has no intention of falling for a charming director who could disappear back to Los Angeles as quickly as he arrived.
But in a small town filled with meddling friends, complicated families, comic books, cooking classes, and very few opportunities to avoid each other, keeping things simple may be impossible.
Slow Simmer is a witty contemporary romantic comedy about coming home, choosing your own future, and discovering that sometimes the right person arrives when you’re busy making other plans.
